The process to acquire an Orange Card is a two (2) step process.
- Procure the actual Orange Card using Material Code 108724923 - Catalyst Telecom has inventory.
- Procure the software Version/Release. That will require that you contact Janet Price at 800.632.0900. There is a charge for Avaya to load the Version/Release onto the card. That charge currently is $136.00 paid to Avaya and the process takes approximately two (2) weeks. Must plan ahead.
Notes on when the use of an Orange Card is required.
When upgrading a switch from Release 9 or 10 where the TN24xx is existing then the Orange Card is required for the new software. It is recommended that if there is a problem and the upgrade fails requiring return to the old Version/Release that an Orange Card with that Version/Release is available. The Orange Card contains the Generic Software which when the license file is loaded will constitute the customer's system.
When a new processor is received from Avaya to replace a failed unit, it should be loaded with the basic software so an Orange Card is not required.
When a new system is shipped out from Avaya or Catalyst Telecom the basic software is loaded, so all that is needed is the License File. top
Increase your selling time with Avaya MultiVantage(tm) Quick Quote * and price estimation tool! *Selected models only, see below for details
Want to save time creating pricing comparisons on Avaya MultiVantage(tm) solutions? Want a quick way to develop Avaya DEFINITY® Quick Quote estimates for your customers? Thanks to John Martini, Avaya systems engineer, you can now develop price comparisons for up to six models at a time. And you don't have to mess with multiple screens and a lot of data entry. This tool increases your selling time allowing you to respond to customers faster.
What is it? A new GES Configurator tool that allows you to request price estimates on the following products:
MultiVantage systems (Offer A only)
si
csi
S8100 G600 (password protected until October- will provide interactive warning message) S8100 CMC1 (password protected until October- will provide interactive warning message) S8300 G700 ICC S8700 Media Server IP-Connect After making relatively few entries on a single screen, the new tool will provide a price estimate comparison for each model requested. While these prices are not valid for a contract, they will provide you with an estimate to begin planning and for budgetary discussions with your customer. The following will give you more information on the tool as well as instructions on how to access and use the tool.
What the Tool Provides -- There are 3 reports that will be generated for the designs requested:
PRICE ESTIMATE COMPARISON REPORT- will give price estimate comparisons for each of the models requested. This report also includes a disclaimer explaining that pricing provided on this report is strictly an estimate. If you input a single model, you have a Quick Quote on that solution.
PRICE ESTIMATE MESSAGE REPORT-will provide any Error/Warning and Exception Messages for the requested designs. This is similar to the Configurator Report provided by the configurator today. *Only Error messages that affect all platforms will be interactive, otherwise, they will appear on this report. It is strongly recommended that you read the Warnings on your Price Estimate Message Report to understand the variation in total price for the models you have selected, prior to making proposals to your customers.
CONFIGURATOR FORMS REPORT- Price Estimate Comparisons cannot be uploaded into the GES Configurator for actual quotes. You will need to reenter your inputs through the normal Configurator Design Process. The Configurator Forms Report can assist with those inputs. For easy access, the Price Estimate Comparison Tool reports are located where you view Configurator Reports today.
TO ACCESS THE NEW PRICE ESTIMATE COMPARISON TOOL:
A third request type has been added and you will now see three choices: Configurations/Piece Parts (existing) Maintenance (existing)
Price Comparison (new). Make this selection to access the tool. Note: DEFINITY is the only system supported in the new tool. To begin using the tool:
Click on Add
Click on Configurator
This will take you directly to the scrolling form. Choose any or all models that you would like to see Price Estimate Comparisons by selecting from a drop down box. This tool will allow "same time" price estimate comparisons for all platforms supported in this report tool. Existing rules in the configurator are utilized with a few exceptions. View exceptions, defaults and assumptions by clicking on F1 to access the Price Estimate Comparison Tool Help File. Make your selections by entering your inputs on the scrolling page and execute the configuration. For further assistance, call the Production Support Hotline at 1-877-615-4174 (toll free) top
